(Day 5 of GMWeek)
When I was a young tyke, if I’d-a come across something like this 1955 Cadillac Series 60 Special Fleetwood, which I passed recently in Buffalo, I could have bet my lunch money that it belonged to a doctor, a lawyer, or maybe a captain of industry. These days? Not so much. Cadillac ownership now covers a much wider spectrum of the population; old Doc Morgan would be flabbergasted to see his (per the 1955 brochure) “highly developed, superbly balanced… specifically engineered to deliver a full 250 horsepower” engine get blown away by some computer tech’s 2017 CTS-V with its 640-hp supercharged 6.2L unit. And I’m sure the new car’s $85,595 MSRP would give the old gentleman apoplexy.
