RealRides of WNY #2473 ......................... 1956 Ford Fairlane

BEMUS POINT, N.Y.
– I’m not 100 percent sure the paint job on this 1956 Ford Fairlane is a factory color (although it looks like it could be Diamond Blue?), but I can say without a doubt that the grille and its surrounding frame did not leave the factory painted the same color as the rest of the car (see the brochure illustration below)And who knows, that factory might have been the one right here on the Buffalo waterfront. Located on Fuhrmann Boulevard, it began operations in 1931, replacing another plant on Main Street (now the Tri-Main Center). After shutting down in 1958 it was used by the frozen food processor Freezer Queen, and then as a distribution center for Tops Markets. It’s now owned by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, and its future is a constantly moving target. Today’s RealRide was seen at this summer’s Fall Festival and Cruise-In.
