NORTH EAST, Pa. – This 1964 Mercury Montclair was pretty much a refresh of the 1963 models. The Montclair was a new nameplate though, replacing the Monterey Custom, slotting between the Monterey and the new top-of-the-line Park Lane. This was also year-two for the Breezeway rear window feature, available in all two- and four-door sedan models, and two- and four-door hardtops save the Marauders, which were introduced halfway through the model year as 1963-1/2 models. We saw this one over the summer at the Orchard Beach Assembly Cruise-In.
