NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. – Big cars were still in vogue back when this 1974 Buick Electra Limited was new. The Limited was a step up from the Electra Custom (two steps up from the Electra 225), and Buick called it “The Ultimate Buick.” Not surprisingly, nicities such as crushed Velour upholstery, power windows, steering, & front bench seat, and a Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission were standard equipment. A rather awkward (IMO) Cruise Master speed control was an option (mounted on the end of the turn signal lever), as was a full-length padded vinyl top on the four-door (a Landau top was offered for the two-door models). We saw this one at a summer car show back in 2018 at the Niagara Falls City Market.
