KILLEEN, Texas – Here’s another nugget from our old Artvoice blog days, a c1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I found lurking behind a repair station not too far from Fort Hood. This one seemed to be in pretty good shape back when I photographed it in 2013. A recent search for Silver Shadows on the internet turned up mostly cars which look like they’ve been well cared for. Of course, there were a few exceptions, like the ones at the bottom of the page. I always wonder how anybody just lets a car like this go to pot. I mean, I know most owners are well-to-do, but isn’t a Rolls-Royce an investment? Yikes, already!
