RealRides of WNY #2512 ......................... 1964 Plymouth Belvedere

ELMA, N.Y.
– We’ve seen this 1964 Plymouth Belvedere more than once these past few years, but it didn’t look like it does in these photos which nashnut.com’s John Trotta took at the 2015 AACA Car Show at Village Green Park. As you can see in the photo at the bottom of the page, when we came across this wagon back in 2020, just a few miles down the road at that year’s car show at St. Gabriel’s Church, it had gained a set of Cragar S/S wheels and a Sheridan Chrysler-Plymouth dealer emblem on the tailgate. (The former Mopar location is now the home of Northtown Lexus.) Model year 1964 would be the last for the Belvedere being the lower priced models of the full-size Plymouth lineup. Even though their size remained the same, for 1965 the new Belvedere models were mid-size cars (Belvedere I, II, and Satellite) while the Fury wheelbase grew three inches and the series names (other than Sport Fury, which remained) were changed from Savoy, Belvedere, and Fury, to Fury I, II, II.
