BUFFALO, N.Y. – I’ll admit to forgetting that a four-door model of the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500/XL was even offered. When introduced for model year 1962, the 500/XL was offered only in two-door hardtop and convertible body styles. A four-door hardtop was added for 1963 (at $3,333) and continued for 1964 ($3,287). For 1965, a new series took over the top spot in the full-size Ford lineup, with the Galaxie 500 LTD four-door hardtop ($3,313) replacing the four-door in the 500/XL lineup (which was still offered in the original two body styles). Today’s RealRide was seen at last summer’s Elk Street Car & Motorcycle Show.
