CLARENCE, N.Y. – It’s another old slide from the summer of 1976. The colors were so faded we decided to convert this one to black & white, especially seeing that this 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is black with a black top anyway! Even the old California tag on the back is one of the original black plates so, why not? The Biarritz was the most distinctive of the ’57 Cadillacs, with its exclusive bodywork aft of the doors, and the fact that its front grille insert, fender script, and “Sabre” wheels could be ordered with a gold tint like the one in the inset, which was seen a while back at a Mecum auction. At the bottom of the page, compare the rear end of a Biarritz with that which was shared by the other Caddys. We came across this RealRide at a garage in Clarence Hollow which was regularly awash with classic cars back in the 1970s.
