CHERRY CREEK, N.Y. – If you’re on this page, you probably realize by now that the 1966 Plymouth Barracuda was based largely on the compact Valiant. Things were a little different north of the border however, as you can see from the two brochure illustrations below. In Canada the Valiant lineup for 1963- 1964 was a mash-up of a U.S. Valiant front and Dodge Dart rear, and for 1965-1966 the Canadian Valiant was pretty much a rebadged Dodge Dart. This would be the final year for this aberration, as for model year 1967 Canada would get the same new Plymouth Valiants as were sold in the States (bottom photo), as well as the newly designed Dodge Dart lineup. Today’s RealRide was seen last summer at Cherry Creek’s annual cruise-in at the ballpark.
