PORT PERRY, ON. – Last summer’s Rambler-Rama featured a bunch of American Motors’ pony car entries, including this 1973 AMC Javelin AMX. The brochure called it “The ultimate Javelin.” It came standard with a 304cid V8, slot-style wheels, deck-mounted spoiler, engine-turned dash, and three-spoke steering wheel. It also had something not available on the original (1968-70) AMX — a back seat. The rather slow-selling two-seat AMX became part of the Javelin lineup for model year 1971. Model year 1974 would be the last for all of the Javelins.
