BUFFALO, N.Y. – It’s not every day that you see a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray parked on a city street unless it’s in some sort of car show. Truth be told though, we’re guessing this one’s owner was a spectator at last fall’s Cruisin’ for a Cure Car & Bike Show at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Care Center, which was just a block or so away. The ’64 Sting Ray was a mild restyle of the ground-breaking new 1963 model. One of the chief differences was seen on the coupe – the elimination of the split rear window. The ’64 brochure made mention of it: “New, too, is the one-piece rear window with its slimline molding (even lady buffs get great hindsight without straining in their seats.” I guess someone somewhere in the styling department figured out that that split rear window, cool-looking as it was, wasn’t that great for outward rear vision.
