
FILLMORE, N.Y. – Came across this 1991 Geo Metro parked on a side street last summer while in town for the FunFest Car Show. The Metro was, as you probably already know, a rebadged Suzuki Swift sold in the U.S. by Chevrolet/Geo dealerships through 1997 (the Geo name was dropped for model year 1998 and the Metros became part of the Chevy lineup). I always thought we here in the States got shortchanged, as in Canada yet another rebadged Swift was sold at Pontiac dealers with the much cooler moniker of Firefly. That’s a Firefly in the photo below, also showing you that these things look much better with the top down.
