BATAVIA, N.Y. – The 1954 Hudson Jet-Liner was a last-ditch effort by Hudson to lure buyers into the compact car market. Hard to imagine the buying public was able to resist “The greatest luxury in the lowest price field!” with such niceties as: six-passenger interiors which were “rich beyond compare” upholstered in “Plasti-Hide;” and an “Instant-Action Engine featuring Super Induction” which provided “matchless performance as well as unusual economy.” Unusual economy? Unusual, indeed. That’s certainly a new one on me. Gasport’s Gary Swiatowy found this very photogenic Jet at the 2009 Nash convention when it was in town. Check out his other work on Flickr @Swi66.
