BEMUS PT., N.Y. – I guess we could have titled this one “UnRealRides of WNY.” This 1976 Honda Civic has had a few modifications since leaving the factory. I would’ve thought having just the one wheel at the back would have classified it as a motorcycle, but the dealer plate back there doesn’t look like a bike plate (or is it?). From the angle I was first approaching this thing last summer at the Fall Festival Cruise-In, it looked like a pickup truck conversion, but then I realized that if it was, the whole back end was missing! Check out the cover of the brochure for the very similar ’75 Civic below. I don’t imagine that this is what they thought things were coming to. Lol. Inside they mentioned the Civic’s impressive gas mileage (28 city/41 highway), the latter of which sounded more like a motorcycle MPG figure back then. Below is also another photo from that brochure in case you’ve forgotten what the back of the car actually looked like when new.
