Although the paint’s faded on the front fender emblem of this 1966 Dodge Polara 440 making it rather hard to read, I was there and can assure you that yes, it’s really a Polara 440. Now if you’ve spent most of your life in a rather large country which is south of the 49thparallel, you might be saying “There’s no such thing as a 1966 Polara 440. The model names were Polara and Polara 500, and Monaco and Monaco 500.” The second part of that statement is true… in the U.S., that is. However, today’s RealRide was seen earlier this month at the recently held Mopar Classic Car Show which took place at Rose City Chrysler in Welland, Ontario… yes, in Canada, where the full-size 1966 Dodge lineup consisted of the Polara, Polara 440, Polara 880, and the Monaco. Thank you Chrysler Canada Limited for always keeping it interesting!
