The first thing I thought when I saw this all-new for 1967 Plymouth Barracuda was, “I don’t remember In-Violet being a 1967 color" (it wasn’t). Then I began reminiscing about my own 1967 Barracuda, which I bought in the late summer of 1971. It was a Medium Blue hardtop (not the fastback) with a blue interior. Bench seat, column TorqueFlite automatic, 273 V8, AM radio, whitewalls & wheel covers. A sharp car, indeed. It was a rusty heap just three years later. Ugh. Today’s non-rusted Barracuda was seen earlier this summer in Tonawanda. Try as they did, I wasn’t buying that spiffy new advertising slogan (below). My car’s non-longevity didn’t win me over, making this both my first and my second-last Plymouth (do we ever learn?). That last Plymouth we bought decades later was a huge disaster. Another story for another time.
