If you said “Those are 1966 Ford wheel covers” on this 1975 Ford LTD, you win today’s prize — a RealRides pat on the back. Although the LTD was Ford’s top model when introduced for model year 1965 (it was actually the Galaxie 500 LTD until 1967, when it morphed into LTD by Ford), by 1975 it had moved down a peg or two (Ford was still selling a base Custom 500 — probably mostly to law enforcement agencies and taxi companies [below]). Parked above the LTD for 1975 were the LTD Brougham and the even more plush LTD Landau. All of the big Fords came with a standard 351cid V8. We saw today’s RealRide this past spring in Franklinville.
