There’s something about a set of whitewall tires and a pair of rear fender skirts which can make almost any car look like it cost more. (Yes, the whitewalls & fender skirts DO make it cost more but, you know what I mean!) Take for example, this 1939 Ford DeLuxe convertible coupe, seen over the summer at the Bella Rose Vineyard Car Show in Lewiston. Compare the above photos to the brochure illustration below. The Tropical Green paint job on today’s RealRide just adds to its allure. The DeLuxe models showed-off a new front end for MY 1939, while the standard models made do with a 1938-style grille, fenders, hood, and bumper (bottom photo).
