RealRides of WNY #2411 (on the road) - 1951 Meteor

What’s a 1951 Meteor Club Coupe which resides in Temple, Texas doing here on the RealRides of WNY page? Simple enough answer. It’s owned by former Hamburg resident Ron Germann (Hamburg High School Class of 1976). It might be a foreign car to the rest of the folks in Texas, but to someone who grew up here in WNY it’s not all that unusual. The original flathead with CANADA stamped on the heads is still under the hood, the original steering wheel is still inside, and the Meteor-specific grille still adorns the front of the car. But out back Ron tells us he installed a Meteor emblem from a 1950 model because… well, because he liked it better than the ’51 version (see a comparison of the two at right). That color isn’t a 1951 FoMoCo color either — it’s from House of Kolor — Brandywine over Precious Gold. Also below is a brochure illustration which looks like this car might have modeled for back in the day. Thanks to Ron for writing in and sending the photos. Nice work!
