Day 4 of A Week in Canada…
PORT PERRY, Ontario - Pictured above is some of the welcoming committee at this past summer’s Rambler-Rama. Here they’re shown guiding a 1969 Rambler and its driver to the parking area of the scenic Scugog Shores Museum Village grounds, just outside of this quaint community located in Scugog, which is about 25 km north of Oshawa. For MY 1969 the Rambler dropped the American moniker in this its final year of production. It was still offered in base (like today’s RealRide) trim (two- and four-door sedan) and the fancier Rambler 440 (four-door sedan and station wagon). American Motors in their literature made the argument for the Rambler over most small imports, mostly comparing them in size — whole car, passenger compartment, trunk, and engine… all of which were larger on the Rambler.
