RealRides of WNY #2452 ......................... 1977 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Day 7 of A Week in Canada…

THOROLD, Ontario – One way to sneak a sports car into the family garage is to buy something like this 1977 Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1300. And just in case any questions arise, you can point to your vanity plate which announces to passers-by that it’s a FMLYKAR. Lol. If you need even more convincing, the Dutch brochure tells us “De Giulia is door haar inwendige en externe afmetingen, kofferruimte, elasticiteit en prettige besturing de meest rationele middenkiasse-wagen.” (In plain English: Due to its internal and external dimensions, trunk space, elasticity and pleasant steering, the Giulia is the most rational medium-sized car.”) And yes, they did come with front & rear bumpers from the factory, as seen in the photos below. This nifty FMLYKAR was seen at a weekly cruise night over the summer on Front Street.
