This 1970 Pontiac GTO was built during the heyday of the American Muscle Car. And in case you don’t believe that Pontiac was serious about the GTO’s performance, here’s a passage from the brochure page entitled power train: It starts with an explosion. Up to 10,000 lbs. of force on each of eight beefy pistons. It twists at a crankshaft. Vehemently. Gears are thrown into activity. A wrenching at the driveshaft. Torque. More gears. And into the rear wheels. Amid the turmoil, you are calmly, sedately, under way. This nice black example stood still long enough for a photo a few years ago in Wheatfield.
