This 1984 Saab was a lifetime WNY RealRide until 2017, when it was driven off to Detroit by new owner Keith Price, who sent along the photo. Crank windows… no a/c… it was almost a stripper car, except of course for the fact that it was a Saab 900 — which means it came equipped with power steering, tach, clock, halogen headlights, tinted glass, and heated front seats with lumbar, height, and rake adjustment. Not to mention the cool Saabiness which these cars are known for. As Price notes, its true mileage is unknown as “…the lazy odometer still records only three out of every ten miles,” but he assures us that it still runs “like the Energizer Bunny.” In their brochure, Saab called the 900 “The best answer to 1984’s personal transportation problems.” It was certainly was of the more attractive ones.
