RealRides of WNY - 1984 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham

The brochure told us that “In a world of look-alikes, this personal luxury car not only stands apart, it stands alone.” Well, that wasn’t exactly the case a week ago as we left the Old First Ward’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on the fringes of downtown Buffalo, and came upon this 1984 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham — right across the street we can see a vintage-ish Buick LeSabre keeping the Toro company. For 1984 a 4.1L V6 was standard, with a 5.0L V8 as an option. If you were really out there, a 5.7L diesel V8 was also available (unless you were buying in California). The brochure also mentions that the standard AM/FM stereo radio could be deleted for credit. I wonder just how many of those left the factory?
