This 1973 AMC Gremlin X is owned by Orchard Park’s Connor Kolb and his uncle, Dave Hulin. You may have seen it recently gracing the top of the “AMC Hornet, Gremlin, Concord, Eagle, and Spirit” Facebook page (bottom photo). We saw it in person at the Orphans in Orchard Park Car Show (where it won a Best in Class award) which was held at West-Herr Chevrolet earlier this month. This one has the standard 3.8L inline six (that’s a 232cid to you old school types) along with the optional Torque-Command automatic transmission; more adventurous types could order the larger, 258cid six or a 304 V-8. The Gremlin X was an option package which the brochure told us included: “full length ‘spear’ side decal, painted grille, slot-style 14”x6” wheels, D70x14 black tires, space saver spare with regular wheel, custom interior with bucket seats, cargo area insulation and carpeting, 15” sports steering wheel, and interior appointment package plus special decals.” Nice.
