Right in the midst of a bunch of Mustangs, Challengers, and many of the usual suspects seen at every cruise-in across America, sat this unrestored 1970 Chevrolet Nova a few weeks ago at the 12th Annual Kiwanis Car Cruise at the Town Park in Pembroke. Showing mileage in the 50k range, this stock-looking Nova (well, except for those red stripe tires!) has one of Chevy’s two available six-cylinder engines under the hood (Oops; we forgot to ask which one!). This Nova is probably more notable for what it doesn’t have: wheel covers; vinyl roof covering; the Exterior Decor or Custom Exterior options — which would have added a lot of dress-uppy stuff on the outside; nor does it have the optional rear deck luggage rack. No really, Chevy offered a rear deck luggage rack on the ’70 Novas — “…with gleaming chrome finish [it] adds a sporty (and useful) touch to your Nova.” I’d love to see an actual photo of someone driving around with their travel bags tied to the luggage rack of their ’70 Nova. Lol… Anyway, congrats to the owners of today’s RealRide for keeping it original!
