RealRides of WNY - 1966 Jaguar 3.8S

Advertising copy of the day described the 1966 Jaguar 3.8S saloon as having “…impeccable body styling and spacious interior proportions.” It also bragged about its “fully independent suspension, self-adjusting brakes on all 4 wheels — reclining front seats, 19 cubic feet luggage boot, twin petrol tanks and choice of automatic or manual transmission.” Meanwhile, on this side of the pond, Chevrolet was touting the Impala with its available 427cid V8 engine and its “tilted valves and deep-breathing ports” which you could also order with “special performance camshaft, solid lifters—and 425 hp.” Different strokes, I guess, for different folks. Saw this black Jag last month at the End of Summer Super Cruise in Middleport.
