The 1968 Chevy Impala Custom Coupe was just one of the myriad full-sized Chevys you could buy that year. The popular Impala offered two different 2-door hardtop rooflines: this more formal, squared-off version which it shared with the more upscale Caprice, and a sportier fastback called the Impala Sport Coupe (bottom of page), whose roofline was shared with other big GM cars like the Pontiac Catalina/Bonneville, Oldsmobile 88, and the Buick LeSabre/Wildcat. This Impala Custom Coupe had a starting MSRP which was $53 higher than the Sport Coupe. I couldn’t find a breakdown of individual Impala models’ sales figures, but Chevy sold more than 710,000 Impalas for 1968. Saw this one over the summer in Fonthill, Ontario.
