This sharp-looking 1957 Ford Custom 300 Tudor is another car we came across over the summer at the annual gathering of The Edsel Guys owners’ group, held in South Wales. The Custom 300 was just a notch up from Ford’s least-expensive 1957 car — the Custom. This one has a few added goodies, like the Thunderbird wire wheels and a molded-in hood scoop from a 1958 Ford (like the one in the photo below). The brochure pointed out the “…graceful chrome side molding, highlighted by gold, anodized, textured aluminum trim that comes with Style Tone color combinations… It has its own way of saying, ‘Let’s Go!’” It was also optional on non-two-toned Custom 300s. Going back a few years, my parents’ all-white ’57 Tudor had this feature (and not much else!).
