It’s not often these days that you come across a stock-looking 1984 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. It seems most of them have some kind of zoomy-looking rims, flashy paint job, or some very weird stance. But, today’s RealRide owner, Tom Krause, went out of his way a couple of years ago to find this one, and he plans on keeping it looking just like it is. Standard on the ’84 Z28 was Chevy’s 5.0L 4-bbl V-8, but as you can see by the rear bumper decal, Tom’s car came with the optional 5.0L 4-bbl High Output V-8 which, at 190 hp was 40 more than the standard motor. Besides a 5-liter, every Z28 also came with different suspension bits, high-performance Eagle GT radial tires, and special “ground-effects” extensions on the rocker panels which Chevy said would “…contribute to smooth airflow along body sides.” We met up with Tom at this year’s Canal Fest of the Tonawandas Car Show in his home town of North Tonawanda.
