In my mind, this is what a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner should look like — post coupe and no fancy wheels. That’s what the original Road Runner debuted as for 1968, but for some reason Plymouth added a 2-door hardtop before the model year was done, and then a convertible for 1969. If you wanted fancy you could buy a GTX! — the Road Runner was supposed to be a no-frills performance car (see the bottom graphic from a first-year ad). Okay, sales numbers don’t bear me out on this, but I’m stubbornly sticking to my position here! This sinister-looking RealRide was seen at the 2017 CAZ car show in Buffalo at Cazenovia Park.
