The 1936 Ford DeLuxe Coupe pictured here had Ford’s V8 engine under the hood as standard equipment. And as Ford told us in the brochure, “Everyone who drives a car has observed the outstanding power, speed and acceleration of the Ford V-8.” Everyone who drives a car? Wow, that’s pretty inclusive! Ford also did a little bit of wordplay when talking about how the Ford V-8 engine requires no breaking-in. “You can drive it 60 miles an hour the day you buy it — after the first 100 miles as fast as you desire.” That sounds like a 100-mile breaking-in period to me. Oh well. This nice example was spotted last summer at a car show in the parking lot of the Frontiersmen VFW Post 7545 in Tonawanda.
