The brochure called the 1969 Mercury Comet “…the one-model car series.” Based on the mid-sized Montego, this iteration of the Comet was introduced the previous year and was available only as a two-door hardtop. It sat at the bottom of the Montego lineup with an MSRP of $2,532 which was $75 less than the cheapest Montego-branded hardtop. We photographed this one back in 2013 when it was for sale in a Sanborn front yard. We’ve run across it a few times since then sporting different wheels & tires.
