RealRides of WNY - 1939 Jaguar

This 1939 Jaguar SS 3-1/2 LitreSaloon was one of the entries in the 2018 Hemmings Motor News Great Race, which started here in Buffalo and ended in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Ironically, in the 1939 brochure, Jaguar mentions the SS’s success “…in open competition events such as the Monte Carlo Rally, the Paris-Nice Trial, the R. A. C. Rally, the Welsh Rally, etc.” Unfortunately, the official 2018 Great Race results tell us that Team Octogenarians in car #128, which consisted of Bob Kaplan of Sun Valley, Idaho and Dana Fraser of Palm Desert, California, did not finish the race. Starting price for a ’39 SS 3.5L? How does £445 sound to you?! (Side note: I’m guessing that this is the first time ever that a car bearing 1939 Idaho license plates ever drove through Downtown Buffalo!)
