RealRides of WNY - 1969 Colony Park

Not quite so evident from the front, but one look at the rear of this 1969 Mercury Marquis Colony Park leaves no doubt as to its Ford lineage (below). The Colony Park was the Big Merc’s super-luxe wagon, with “…elegantly paneled body sides and tailgate.” This one also sports a black vinyl roof, luggage rack, and wheel covers which look like they might have come from J.C. Whitney, but are in fact from the factory; Mercury called them “Deluxe wheel covers with medallion” (see inset)They told us “they add distinction to any Mercury.” At the bottom of the page you can also see how the Marquis looked with the headlight doors closed. We came across this one a few years ago sitting in a used car lot in Wrights Corners.
