This 1958 Edsel Pacer is the latest acquisition of local Edsel Guys club vice-president Jim Turner. We met up with him and his newest ride at a cruise night at St. John the Baptist Church in Alden. Mr. Turner’s Pacer was certainly one of the most colorful cars on display that night with its Spruce Green/Ice Green two-tone paint. There was even more green to be seen in the interior, which also featured Edsel’s exclusive Teletouch Drive, in which the automatic transmission gear selector buttons were “…correctly placed in the center of the steering wheel.” And no, that center hub does not rotate with the steering wheel.
