RealRides of WNY - 1959 Mercury

Sometimes you pass a lot filled bumper-to-bumper with an assortment of automobiles without giving it a thought. Other times you pull over to have a closer look. One of those times happened a few weeks ago while I was driving through Jamestown. Smack dab in the middle of things was this 1959 Mercury Montclair, looking like it could use a bit of attention. I imagine those front and rear windshields gave the insurance underwriters nightmares. The compound curves must have made them a pretty expensive claim. If this one runs, I’d gladly drive it as is once those chrome fender skirts get the heave-ho. A relatively rare find, as only 7,375 of the two-door hardtop Montclair were produced.
