Virgil Exner’s Forward Look was still evident when this 1959 Plymouth Belvedere hit the showrooms, but this year it had a bit of a different… slant. Get it? The tailfins were now slanted more forward than backward! Plymouth called the new ‘59s “…a high-stepping, nimble-footed masterpiece of luxury and comfort.” The Belvedere was now third in the pecking order, behind the Sport Fury and Fury models, and a notch above the base Savoys. We saw this one last month at a Father’s Day car show at the Dairy Queen in Eden.
