Seeing a 1963 Chevrolet Impala sport coupe at a cruise night/car show isn’t all that unusual. Seeing one like this, sporting what looks like an Anniversary Gold paint job and looking like it just drove out of the showroom however, isn’t all that common (at least in my experiences). The front fender badge would seem to indicate that there’s a 283cid V8 under the hood. That Anniversary Gold paint was introduced in 1962 to commemorate Chevrolet’s 50thAnniversary (which some references say was actually in 1961), and even though it’s not included on the 1963 Chevy paint chip guide, it was offered that year as factory choice. We saw this one a few weeks ago at a weekly Friday cruise night at the Moose Lodge in Hamburg.
