Although the Medium Ginger vinyl interior of this 1973 Mercury Cougar XR-7 certainly flatters its yellow paint job, I was intrigued when I saw the name of one of the Cougar’s other interior choices: “Upbeat Stripe cloth and vinyl.” Reading further we learn the available colors are: ”black, medium blue, medium ginger, white with black, and, at slight additional cost, avocado and tan.” Although not shown in the brochure I was perusing, below is an illustration of the medium ginger version. Today’s RealRide was seen over the summer at a cruise night at the Wurlitzer Building in North Tonawanda.
