I can’t remember the last time I saw a 1986 Chevy Cavalier Z24 on the road, never mind one that looked to be in showroom condition. In the brochure, Chevy told us “Camaro Z28 Is Its Big Brother.” Under the hood was a 2.8L V6 with multiport injection, connected to a 4-speed manual transmission (an automatic was optional), while the undercarriage featured a “…suspension stiffened up with heavier anti-sway bars, higher-rate springs and shock valving, and sticky 14” Eagle GT tires.” The body was spiffed-up with ground effects panels and a front air dam; a rear spoiler (not the one seen here) was optional only on the hatch, which was the other available body style (bottom photo). We saw this one a few weeks ago in Tonawanda.
