RealRides of WNY - 1970 Lincoln

Back when this 1970 Lincoln Continental was new, size still mattered. In Lincoln’s own words:

  • The body is longer.
  • The stance is the widest on the road today.
  • Its engine is a massive 460 cubic inch deep-breathing V-8.

Yet surprisingly, an AM/FM stereo and air-conditioning were still extra-cost options on Ford’s marquee luxury automobile. They did however, offer up a mind-boggling 23 standard paint color choices, four extra-cost “Moondust” paints, five vinyl roof colors, and five standard interior colors. Today’s RealRide, seen over the summer at a weekly cruise night in Olcott, seems to have been owned at one time by the Director of the WNY AAA. Perhaps it still is!
