RealRides of WNY - 1960 Invicta

This 1960 Buick Invicta is a beautiful shade of Lucerne Green with a matching green and white interior. Checking that year’s brochure we find something unusual: an illustration of another Invicta convertible, only this time the top is raised! You didn’t often see a raised top in any pieces of advertising, and this one is in a very striking color combo: Casino Cream with a green top. I’d love to see that one in person. The Invicta series was Buick’s full-size hot rod, if you will. It used the smaller LeSabre body/frame with the larger 401cid V8 of the top-of-the-line Electra/Electra 225. We saw this one over the summer at a car show held at St. John the Baptist Church in Alden.
