This 1958 Chevy Apache Series 36 has an 8-foot cargo bed on a wheelbase of 123-1/4 inches, putting it in the middle of Chevy’s offerings that year — there were also 6-1/2 and 9-ft beds available, with wheelbases of 114 and 135 inches respectively. The Series 36 had a GVW of 5200 lbs. and a GVRW of 6900 lbs., making it a ¾-ton pickup (give or take a few pounds). Today’s RealRide, seen over the summer at a Medina cruise night, sits about as low to the ground as you can get — I don’t think you could even pass a breath between the driver’s door and the pavement, Lol… Look closely and you’ll spot the owner enjoying his dinner in the back of the cargo bed.
