RealRides of WNY - 1978 LUV

Although we couldn’t find any evidence on the internet that this 1978 Chevy LUV was ever offered from the factory with the Stepside pickup box seen here (there were aftermarket Stepside beds available), we do know that Chevy carried this  badge-engineered Isuzu Faster in two wheelbase lengths — 102.4 inches (like today’s RealRide) with a 6-ft. bed, and 117.9 inches with a 7.5-ft. bed. You could also buy the shorter LUV as a chassis cab with no bed and install whatever you like back there (bottom of page)The sliding rear window seen here, a LUV option, was recently found and installed by the truck’s current owner, Robert from Clarence. You can see photos of the truck (without the sliding rear window) and read about some of its other features, in a previous owner’s for sale ad we found on the internet (click here). We came across Robert and his truck at a gathering of Sheridan Drive cruisers one Saturday afternoon last month in Tonawanda.
