We spotted this 1958 Chevrolet Delray a few weeks ago in a Tonawanda parking lot. You can tell it’s a six-cylinder model by the lack of “vee” emblems on the trunk and hood (see photo at bottom of page). We were quite surprised when we saw this car because: a) you don’t see many 60-year-old classic cars out on the streets of WNY in December; b) although I’m sure the majority of cars were sold this way back in 1958, these days it seems there are fewer still around with monochromatic paint jobs — like this one’s Glen Green; and c) it’s wearing a license plate frame from Begole Chevrolet, which was located at 27 Main St. in North Tonawanda back in 1958. Over the years the dealership changed hands many times (Leiphart, Noreen, Paul Wilson, Joe Basil, Flanagan, and Frontier all come to mind). Begole is a new one on me!
