RealRides of WNY - 1960 Dart

A dearth of trim location holes on this 1960 Dodge Dart leads me to believe it’s from the baseline Seneca series. It looked as if it had just had a paint refresh when we came across it on the back of a flatbed in a parking lot in the hamlet of Model City back in 2012. Compare it to a fully assembled example below. Model City, located within the Town of Lewiston, was supposed to be a community of more than a million inhabitants, plus a canal connecting the Niagara River to Lake Ontario, and a hydroelectric plant back when it was envisioned in the 1890s by railroad entrepreneur William T. Love. The first part of the canal was actually constructed adjacent to the river in the city of Niagara Falls before Love’s company went bankrupt. Yes, that canal. Model City is now mostly home to the landfill owned by Waste Management, Inc., whose local headquarters are also located there.
