Day 5 of 7 Days of Lincoln…
This 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV was spotted just a few weeks ago in a Niagara Falls parking lot. Not often you see a 48-year-old car on the road in the middle of a WNY February. The brochure told us that it was “Quite simply, the most beautiful automobile in America.” Included at no extra cost were such niceties as an instrument panel consisting of “…Kashmir walnut woodgrain matina and baby burl walnut woodgrain applique; a Cartier timepiece, signed by the famous Fifth Avenue jeweler; and an AM radio with power antenna.” The standard sound system in the 2020 Continental sedan, which is the closest thing to a Mark IV in today’s Lincoln showroom, is something called “Lincoln Connect™ with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability.” Hmm, can’t tell from the description if you can tune in to your favorite AM station with that or not, Lol. How times have changed!
