When discussing different roof styles available for the 1977 Buick Regal, the brochure mentioned full vinyl tops for the two- and four-door models, and also a landau-style top and an electric all-metal sunroof for the two-doors. “But perhaps the ultimate transformation takes place when you order the Hurst hatch roof… a pair of rectangular panels of tinted glass, set into the roof.” Also available only on the two-door coupes, they were, of course, removable, and could be stored in the trunk in a case called a “Hatch Hutch.” Some of us call these T-Tops, and today’s RealRide has one. It was seen this past summer at the annual car show held behind the Town Hall in West Seneca.
