As if this 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special wasn’t already long enough, the brochure illustration (below) seems to be an exaggeration of the car’s size (or is it?), which is what many automotive advertising artists seemed to do back in the day. Cadillac told us that the “…long-wheelbase sedan bears many distinguishing design features to emphasize its exclusive character.” The somewhat wordy description of those features uses the term “wheel opening cover” for what us common folks usually refer to as a fender skirt. We came upon this one back in 2017 at a weekly cruise night on Queen Street in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
